Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I want you to feel comfortable being yourself from the start. I try to create a space that feels warm, open, and judgment-free, where you can talk honestly about what’s going on. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I want to get to know you as a whole person—not just the symptoms, struggles, or experiences that bring you in. I also want to help you recognize the strengths you already have and build on them. My hope is that therapy can be a place for honest conversations, difficult work, and room to breathe when the world feels heavy. I know that our culture, family, relationships, and experiences all shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. They can affect how we communicate, cope, relate to others, and the expectations we have for ourselves. I want to understand those parts of your story rather than make assumptions about them, and I want you to feel comfortable bringing them into the room.
My approach draws from cognitive behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches. Sometimes that means learning practical tools to help with what you’re dealing with right now. Other times, it means slowing down and looking at the thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences underneath it. We can figure out together what is most helpful for you. Rather than telling you who you should be, I want to help you better understand yourself and decide what you want for your life.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationship concerns, trauma, and life transitions. I especially enjoy working with adults navigating changes in work, relationships, independence, identity, and other transitions throughout life.
Ultimately, I want therapy to be a place where you can be honest, feel supported, and be challenged when it’s helpful. With me, you can expect openness, honesty, thoughtful challenge, and well-timed humor when it fits.
