Insurance & Payment Information
Your insurance plan determines how much you are required to pay per session and how much of the cost the insurance company will cover. Using an in-network provider offers the most out of your insurance benefits. If you are not sure if Transcend is in-network with your insurance, please contact us with your insurance details and we can determine if we are in- or out-of-network for your plan.
Some insurance plans have a set amount called a co-pay that you will pay for every session. Other plans have a deductible that you will gradually pay off before the insurance company will cover any of the costs. After meeting the deductible, there is usually a percentage of costs shared by the client and the insurance called coinsurance.
Because every plan is different, we cannot guarantee having accurate information about what your specific insurance plan will cover and the exact costs to you. Please communicate directly with your insurance plan to gain detailed information about your deductible, coinsurance, copays, and other coverage details. If an insurance provider denies payment for services, the client is responsible for the cost of the services. Insurance does not pay for missed sessions.
Deductibles
A deductible is the amount you pay for health care services before your health insurance begins to pay. For example, if your plan has a $1,500 deductible, your insurance will require you to pay 100% of the eligible costs for your session until you reach a total of $1,500. After that you will share the cost with your insurance by paying coinsurance. Deductibles can range widely. You may have an individual deductible and a family deductible if you are on a plan with other people.
Coinsurance
Coinsurance is your share of the eligible costs of service, which you split with your insurance company. You start paying coinsurance after you've paid your plan's deductible. For example, after you have paid up to your deductible, you pay 30% of the eligible costs and your insurance plan pays the other 70% (or 20/80%, or whatever split your plan has determined).
Copays
A copay is a fixed amount you pay for each session. Copays can be different for different types of services (for example $35 for the initial intake session and $30 for a regular therapy session). You may have a copay before you’ve finished paying toward your deductible. You may also have a copay after you pay your deductible, and when you owe coinsurance.
