I’m a clinical social worker with more than 15 years of experience with a multitude of populations; however, I have spent the past 10 years honing my expertise with children and teens. I help children identify and manage their emotions and assist them in creating a “toolbox” of coping skills that will help them to feel better about themselves and their relationships with others. I include parents in developing goals and behavioral expectations.  Many of the children that I work with are struggling with anxiety and depression. I also help children navigate peer relationships, school issues, and family transitions. Additionally, I teach effective communication and social skills. I believe that every child wants to be successful, confident, and feel good about themselves and I am dedicated to helping them in that journey.

Children and teens require creativity and flexibility in the therapeutic process, which is why I keep my style laid back and eclectic. My primary concern is meeting the child where they are and creating a safe, supportive, and relaxed environment. I believe in the power of collaboration and communication and make every effort to include parents. Additionally, I am also employed as a school social worker and understand the importance of working within the multiple systems that the child interacts with, including necessary school personnel. I weave in components of cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, and play therapy.
