Much of psychotherapy, I believe, is about the courageous, terrifying, and sacred work of facing yourself. I feel incredibly honored to be invited into this journey, and see my role as accompanying you with compassion and curiosity, while listening closely and reflecting back the insights you’ll uncover about yourself. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic, valuing the function of the unconscious and discovering unexpected surprises along the way. I also try to center my clients and their strengths, while offering genuine, empathetic presence. I am trained in art therapy and psychotherapy and incorporate both methods based on my clients’ needs and desires.  

I have extensive experience working with children and youth from various immigrant communities, particularly walking with those who have experienced domestic and sexual violence. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, and offer services in English and Korean.

저는 심리치료란 결국 자신을 있는 그대로 마주하는 용기 있는 여정이라고 믿습니다. 그 과정은 때로는 두렵고 힘들지만, 동시에 매우 소중하고 의미 있는 경험이기도 합니다. 저는 그 여정에 저를 초대해준 내담자분들의 용기에 감사하며 함께할 수 있다는 것을 늘 큰 영광으로 생각합니다. 따뜻한 공감과 진심 어린 호기심을 가지고 내담자의 이야기에 귀 기울이며, 내담자 스스로가 자신을 더 발견하고 이해해 나가는 과정에 함께하고자 합니다.

저의 치료 접근은 정신역동적(psychodynamic) 치료를 바탕으로 하고 있습니다. 눈에 보이지 않는 무의식의 영향과 삶의 패턴을 함께 살펴보며, 그 과정에서 예상하지 못했던 새로운 통찰과 변화를 발견하는 것을 중요하게 생각합니다. 무엇보다 내담자 한 사람 한 사람의 강점과 가능성을 믿으며, 안전하고 편안한 공간에서 진솔하게 자신을 탐색할 수 있도록 함께하고자 합니다. 저는 미술치료와 심리치료를 모두 공부하고 훈련받았으며, 내담자 분의 필요와 원하는 방식에 맞춰 두 가지 접근을 유연하게 활용합니다.

저는 다양한 이민자 공동체의 아동과 청소년들과 일해 왔으며, 특히 가정폭력과 성폭력을 경험한 청소년들의 회복 과정을 함께해 왔습니다. 저는 또한 LGBTQ+를 존중하고 지지하는 상담을 제공하며, 영어와 한국어로 상담을 진행합니다.
