In response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

It is with a heavy heart that we at Transcend respond to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. While we are not surprised by this decision, we are enraged and full of sorrow. This attack on our right to safe and legal abortions is a malicious act that harms everyone but the most privileged in our country.

While we are fortunate to be in Illinois, one of the few safe harbors in the Midwest, we must speak up and take action for those in other states that lack these protections. Transcend will be donating to the Chicago Abortion Fund, which provides “financial, logistical, and emotional support to people seeking abortion care in Chicago, in Illinois, and the Midwest.”

We encourage everyone who can to donate, vote, and contact your government officials. Please take time to grieve, get the support you need, and support one another.
